Hampton School has announced the formation of a new charitable schools’ group – Hampton Schools’ Trust – bringing together four independent schools in South West London. The trust’s founding member schools − Hampton, Hampton Pre-Prep & Prep, Kew College Prep, and Newland House School – say the move will “strengthen their long-term sustainability, increase opportunities for pupils and staff, and secure the future of not-for-profit independent education in the area.”
By joining in a group, the schools will be able to share facilities and offer “joint initiatives and wider experiences”, an announcement said. Families at Kew College Prep in Kew and Newland House School in Twickenham will also benefit from new assured place pathways to Hampton for boys, and neighbouring Lady Eleanor Holles (LEH) for girls.
The Hampton Schools’ Trust Executive Leadership Group (ELG) will be led by Hampton headmaster, Kevin Knibbs, who said:
“We are delighted to announce the formation of the Hampton Schools’ Trust − an exciting, progressive and values-led initiative that will ensure an even stronger future for the communities we serve.
“Our governors and I, together with the heads in our family of schools, firmly believe in the importance, abiding relevance and moral purpose of charitable independent education.
“Our collective aspiration is to build on our member schools’ many existing strengths and continue providing exceptional education that always puts pupils before profit.”
The Trust will officially come into effect in January 2027 but the Assured Place Scheme will commence immediately. The Trust has announced that it might welcome additional charitable independent schools in the area that share the same values and outlook.
